The Merimbula Boardriders club was re-formed midway through 2006 by a bunch of local surfers who are keen to support not only their own kids but the youth in the local area and give them an introduction into the world of competition surfing. A few of the local surfers are competing on the amateur circuit and hopefully the support offered by the Merimbula Boardriders will assist in their push forward to their dream of professional surfing.
The club caters for all standards and ages and at the end of the day, the promotion of an active fun healthy lifestyle is the main goal.
Non surfing parents are welcomed to not only come down and meet the crew but to assist with the duties involved with running competitions.
The kids not only get to surf they are also encouraged to participate with the judging of heats and help with setting up and packing up after a days events.
